SILICONE RUBBER GRADE SIL10, SIL16, SIL16FR, SIL24, SIL33:

This product is REACH, RoHS, PAH & CE Compliant

Silicone Rubber Sponge product forms

Profile extrusions, Silicone rubber sheeting, cord, joined rings, punched forms and self adhesive backed variations available.

Silicone Rubber Sponge applications

Cellular Silicone Rubber is suitable where a soft, easily deformed rubber is required, for example high temperature seals and gaskets. The sheets and punched parts are all available with self-adhesive backing to ease assembly.

Thermal Properties

This range of Silicone Rubber is suitable for continuous use at temperatures up to +200°C. It has even been found that temperatures as high as 300°C useful lives of up to 10 hours can be achieved. they are also suitable for use at temperatures as low as -60°C.

Chemical Compostition of Silicone Rubber Sponge

This range of polydimethylsiloxane have been "free-blown" with a chemical blowing agent and crosslinked with an organic peroxide. The cellular structure is produced without the use of CFC's thus having a less damaging effect on the environment.

Moisture Absorption

The range has a very low degree of moisture absorption. Mechanical properties show little change even after long periods of immersion.

Pigmentability

The product range is available in off-white as standard. Other colours such as red oxide are available and we can colour match to most customer requirements.

Environmental Resistance

Silicone Rubber has excellent resistance to ozone, oxidation, ultraviolet light, coronal discharge, cosmic radiation, ionising radiation and weathering in general. Typical radiation resistance is greater than 10 grays (greater than 10 rads).

* Density measured on 25mm diameter cord sample. The density of samples of different sizes will be different from that stated here.
** Hardness measured on 10mm thick samples. At less than 10mm the measured hardness will increase with density.
*** Compression set measured on 25mm thick samples. The compressive stress of the material increases with the density as the sample thickness is reduced.
# It is not possible to perform a Shore A hardness test on sponge material. These values are provided as a guideline for comparison to solid materials and as such are not designed for use in specifications.

DHT-800 MEDIUM CELLULAR SILICONE:

DHT-800 Medium Cellular Silicone features and benefits

HT-800 is a highly versatile, medium firmness Silicone that offers the lightness of a foam, with the enhuanced capabilities of a traditional sponge rubber. It is used to seal and protect various outdoor communications, electronics, and lighting enclosures, while providing protection against wind-driven rain and fire. The material is also used to reduce shock or isolate vibration.

  • Excellent memory and low stress relaxation reduces maintenance costs associated with gasket failures due to compression set and softening.
  • Resistance to ultraviolet light, ozone, extreme temperatures and flame, enables consistent performance in all environments.
  • Compact cell structure and unique formulation provides enhanced sealing performance to resist penetration of fine particles and wind-driven rain.
  • FDA compliant in accordance with FDA Regulation 21 CFR 177.2600

Applications

  • Environmental seals to protect against penetration of dust, moisture, air or light within outdoor enclosures such as light fixtures, HVAC units, and electronic cabinets.
  • Vibration isolators in electronic components and transportation vehicles
  • Shock absorbing cushions and gaskets

Available with a pressure sensitive adhesive on one or two sides to allow easy application to a variety of surfaces.
